💜Happy Thursday! 直垂(ひたたれ)の話 Talking about hitatare 是非スワイプ👉 Swipe for more photos🎌 🐴This sweet Japanese horse is Ebisu❤ 🐴馬さんはえびす君(和種馬)です❤ 写真で着てる物が｢直垂｣です! 上と下に別れており、上は直垂、下が袴になってて、直垂袴と呼ばれてます。 Hitatare is the garment I'm wearing in the photos😊 It's in two pieces, the top part simply called ｢hitatare｣ and the bottom part is ｢hitatare hakama｣  現代ではまだ色んな場面で直垂見れます。能、流鏑馬、射礼など 私はスポーツ流鏑馬や和式馬術の稽古、検定、大会などで着ます。 You can see hitatare these days in noh performances, during yabusame ceremonies and kyudo related ceremonies. I'm will wear hitatare for my sports yabusame gradings and competitions. Hitatare is popular among sports yabusame archers too. 📌平安時代から存在する物であって、後で武士の服として使われました。 📌The hitatare originated in the early Heian period becoming common samurai clothing later in the same period. By the mid 13th century, hitatare had become the standard samurai garment.  ネットのリサイクルアプリでこの素敵な直垂が私を見つけてくれた(笑) 緑と紫の生地が光の当て具合によって色が変わります💚💜今まで見た事ないような生地で大好きです。 I found this wonderful and colorful hitatare on the internet(actually I should say, it found me😅). I love the colour and the pattern, depending where the light hits it turns from purple to green💚💜 📌直垂面白いところが沢山あります✨ 🔹胸紐（むなひも）胸元にある白/紫の紐 🔹菊綴（きくとじ）の紐［結び菊綴］写真7枚目 🔹袖露（そでつゆ）［袖括（そでぐくり）の緒（お）写真2枚目 袖の先で紐があります。 📌Some noteble points on this hitatare are  🔹The white and purple ｢munahimo｣ the string that ties on my chest. 🔹The ｢kikutoji｣ close up photo 7 🔹The sodetsuyu or sodekuguri no o.If you look at photo 2 the sleeves have a cord woven into the bottom of the sleeves. I love all the details and craftsmanship on this garment! 8~10枚目の写真は紅葉台で装束乗りイベントに参加したとき。室町時代から、立烏帽子から折烏帽子になってて、写真では折烏帽子かぶってます✨ Photos 8~10 show hitatare with ori eboshi (the hat I'm wearing) From the Muromachi Period onward, it became more common to wear folded, or ori eboshi with the hitatare. So I tried at a special event at my horse ranch🐴 Wikiより 直垂（ひたたれ）は、主に武家社会で用いられた男性用衣服、日本の装束の一つである。 直垂からは「大紋直垂」・「素襖直垂」・鎧下に着る「鎧直垂」・「肩衣」などが時代と共に生じていく。 If wearing armor, the samurai would commonly wear a yoroi hitatare which differs slightly from the standard traditional hitatare notably the sleeves are alot more compact to facilitate wearing armour.

Happy Friday!🏹 胸当(むねあて)の話 Talking about muneate or the kyudo chest protector 現代弓道にまつわる話 Muneate use in present day kyudo ｢5枚目以降｣ 胸当は弓道具の基本、胸元を守るために着けるもの。基本的に女性の方が着用、たまに男性も使います。 From photo 5 onwards The muneate or chest protector is an essential piece of kyudo equipment for women, and on occaision for men too. 一般的に三角なような形になってて、胸元に着用する。｢会｣に入ると狙いの一部となってる｢胸弦｣は弦が胸に静かに胸に当たります。離れると胸当がないと射手の胸元が弦に当たる可能性があります。 Shaped in a triangle shape with rounded edges, the muneate is worn on the chest area to protect it from the bow string on release. We use munazuru, the point where the bowstring touches our chest in full draw (kai) as a point of reference in aiming. 胸当はいろんな種類ございます。材料といろは様々です。基本的に｢黒｣｢白｣｢透明｣が多くの方に使われてます。 Mune ate come in quite a large selection of materials and colors. The standard is either black or white or sometime clear. 材料が革、ナイロン、人工皮革などでできてます。 They are made of man made p.u. leather, actual leather, nylon mesh, or flexible plastic. 場合によって、着物の余り生地で胸当を作ります。 その方が胸当してても着物の柄や色、は邪魔にならず綺麗にいかせます。 On occaision people will have one custom made with the same fabric their kimono is made out of. This is a great idea, so the muneate doesn't detract from the beautiful kimono underneath. たまに、胸が膨らした男性の方が使います、私服で弓引くとき男女関わらず着用する方もいます。 たまに女性の方でも使わない方います。たまに弓道着の中に着用する方もいます。 Sometime well endowed men will wear them. When both men and women practice in normal clothes they wear one to ensure the string doesnt get caught on their clothing.Sometimes women won't wear one. Or sometimes, they will wear it inside their dougi so you just cant see it. ある日お稽古中に胸当てのゴムが壊れました。一手で胸当てなしで引いてみました･･･弦はやはり当たります😅😭 I tried shooting without muneate one day when my elastic broke during practice. Happy Monday everyone💙 体配(たいはい)の話 Talking about taihai 先日着物着て先輩とお稽古。体配は何度も行いました👘 The other day I had photos taken in kimono with my sempai.We practiced taihai several times👘 個人的にですが、体配が踊りなように感じ。踊ってるわけではないが、決まったステップ(動作)、決まった順番やタイミングで行う。 I think of taihai like a dance. It's not dancing per se, but from the start to the finish the steps and the timing are set. 私が試験/審査あると体配行います。しかし場合によって、全くの初対面の方4名と組んで行えなければならない。 When I have shinsa/grading I must perform zassha taihai with up to 4 other people I may not have ever met. 間、タイミング、速度が大事な場面で初めましての4名と例えばダンスの試験受ける事って想像できますか？(笑) 少し緊張😅 When timing and speed are important, could you imagine having a dance examination with 4 people you never practiced with before?😅 ある程度前の方と速度合うように動作を行えなければならない。 To a certain extent we need to match the pace of the person in front. 射場を入場をし、その弓道や弓術の流派によって体配行います。 We enter the shajo then depending on which school of archery we learn, we will do taihai in that specific way. いつ体配行うのが道場によって違いますが、所属道場ではお稽古始まり前に必ず一手で体配します。 The rules are different from dojo to dojo but in my home dojo before starting our regular okeiko we will always do zassha taihai with hitote (two arrows). 個人的に体配好きです。下手ですが、そのゆっくり動くこと、ゆっくり引くことが気持ち良いのだ✨ I love zassha taihai as it takes time, quite a few minutes just to shoot 2 arrows. Happy Thursday💚 🏹射籠手/射小手(いごて)の話 🏹Talking about igote (horse back archery sleeve) 📌騎射する際、左腕に着けてるものについて質問がありました✨ 📌The other day I had a question about the sleeve I wear when practicing sports yabusame or horseback archery. ｢いごて｣射籠手/射小手とも書きます。騎射（流鏑馬・犬追物など）装束の一つで弓手（ユンデ)左手につけるものです。左の袖は弓の弦に巻き込まないよう射籠手の中で綺麗にまとまります。 It's called an Igote or Yugote and can be translated as a bow gauntlet or bow sleeve. Worn on the left/bow hand the igote serves to protect the archers arm from the bow string. 甲冑用の籠手と別物です。錦・綾などの表地に、中に麻、裏に平絹をつけて作られています。 Traditionally part of the clothing worn when practicing horseback archery, yabusame, inuoumono etc. They were made of silk or cotton with a hemp fibre lining. They are also different to the sleeve worn with kacchu armour (kagote) 🐴スポーツ流鏑馬の場合、安全のため大会や検定会(審査)では射籠手着用が必要。 With sports yabusame it is a rule that we wear one during our gradings and competitions for the sake of safety. We wear hitatare(traditional garments) or kimono when we ride and the igote keeps the long sleeve out of the way. スワイプすると先輩の @shokuninkitsuya さんが着物帯をリサイクルして射籠手作ってくださいました(パール色) 緑色のものがメルカリで見つけたものです。スポーツ流鏑馬の射手は通販で買うか、手作りする方が多いです。 If you swipe you can see an igote my sempai @shokuninkitsuya made for me, with a recycled kimono obi (pearl colour). The next one (green) was purchased second hand. Sports yabusame archers purchase their igote from online shops, or they are handmade, oftentimes by the archers themselves. 最近小笠原清基さん @ogasawararyu が、男性が冬の寒い時期に着物着て弓のお稽古するときは肌脱ぎをしないで、かわりに射籠手をつけて暖かくお稽古ができます。このアイデアがとても良いですね✨ Recently Kiyomoto Ogasawara san @ogasawararyu posted about the igote also being used by men in kimono during winter for standard kyudo practices. Usually men must remove their kimono sleeve (hadanugi) but in winter it is freezing. Ogasawara san suggests keeping your kimono on and wearing an igote instead😊I think this is a great idea.

💙Happy Friday everyone!! 📌弓術日置流印西派の話 📌Talking about Heki ryu Insai ha 先月東北にて黒須先生の道場お邪魔しました! 月刊秘伝の取材と共に日置流印西派の指導させて頂きました✨ The other day I had the opportunity to be taught Heki ryu Insai ha at Kurosu sensei's own dojo in Tohoku. I was there helping for his interview with martial arts magazine: Gekkan Hiden @budojapan 黒須先生は東北学院大学の教授であり、伊達印西派弓術研究会のリーダーであって、約50年弓引いてます✨ Kurosu sensei is a Professor at Tohoku Gakuin University and the leader of the Date Insai ha Kyujutsu Reseach Group. He has been involved with kyujutsu and kyudo for about 50 years✨ 黒須先生の指導頂いて光栄でした✨手の内技術｢紅葉重ね｣や｢斜面打ち起こし｣教えていただきました✨そっから少しずつ練習してます✨ It was an honour to be taught by him in this amazing school of archery. Learning the special tenouchi technique of ｢momiji gasane｣ and shooting technique of ｢shamen uchiokoshi｣ from him was very insightful. Since I visited him I have been continuing to practice Heki ryu Insai ha🏹 📌月刊秘伝 本日発売✨ ｢黒須先生の記事:手の内の歴史と技法｣ Heki ryu was founded in the Muromachi Period,  during the Edo period a faction called Insai ha was born. The Date clan based in Sendai practiced this particular school of archery. The style emphasizes practicality on the battlefield over ceremonial grace.
