Happy Saturday💙 四半的弓道: マイ弓矢 Shihanmato kyudo: my own bow and arrow ｢写真10枚目｣先日稽古で頼んだマイ弓矢届きました！キラキラいいね✨マイ弓矢、やはり嬉しいですね☺️ ｢Photo 10｣The other day at practice I received the bow and two arrows that I had ordered! So new and sparkly! Its so nice to have my own bow and arrows☺️ 四半的弓道の発祥地: 宮崎県にある お店から購入しました✨ I ordered from the original shop in the area where shihanmato kyudo originated. 弓矢がカーボンなのねとても軽い✨色はお店に任せしました。弓も矢も濃い赤なような色なってます。矢は一手で引きます、矢の羽違いが引く順番がすぐにわかるようにだとか。会のメンバーが弓矢袋を作ってくださいました！着物の帯にリメーク👘 Everything is carbon so its very very light. They chose the colours for me🎀 so I have a wine red bow with a red grip and similar coloured arrows. We shoot in pairs and its a standard thing to have two different patterened arrows. The bag that carries everything is made from a kimono obi by one of the club members❤ ---------- 四半的弓道の話 Talking about shihanmato kyudo ---------- 📌宮崎県から広まった四半的弓道は一般の人が引く弓として広まった。 📌Shihanmato kyudo started in Miyazaki ken about 400 years ago. This type of archery was for the non-samurai/regular people! 📌八節あります。左利きの弓はあり、畳に座ったまま弓引きますので椅子も車イスも大丈夫。私服で大丈夫。 📌Like kyudo there are hassetsu.But different to kyudo: there are left handed bows, you sit on tatami to shoot and people that prefer chairs or need to use wheelchairs are welcomed. I love that. Also there is no paticular uniform, jeans and a tshirt are fine. 📌的まで8.2m 矢が1.36m 口割り/頬付けがあごの方にあります。ゆがけを使わない、ピンチ式で引きます✨滑らないよう、矢はずに滑り止めついてます(写真7枚目) 📌It's 8.2m to the target and the arrows are 1.36m long! The kuchiwari/hozuke (the anchor point) is around the chin area. We dont use a glove just a pinch draw. There are non slip covers on the ends of the arrows (Photo 8). Happy Tuesday💜 📌矢筒(やづつ)の話 Talking about arrow quiver(yazutsu) 弓道具の全てもそうですが、矢が大切です。竹は特に天然素材で熱や湿気が苦手。矢を持って移動する時や、矢の保管のたまに｢矢筒｣使います。 As with all our equipment in kyudo our arrows are very precious. When we are storing or transporting them we use a quiver called a yazutsu. 📌3の写真が個人の矢筒 ｢左から｣ プロジェクト中の物、四つ矢入る物、六つ矢入る物、日常稽古用 📌Photo 3 are my yazutsu (left to right) 1) A project I'm working on 2) A yazutsu for 4 arrows. 3) A yazutsu for 6 arrows 4) My daily use yazutsu made by @shokuninkitsuya 📌7の写真 矢筒を持って道場行きます、矢を取り出して矢立に入れます。弓引きながら必要な数取り出す。終わりましたら矢筒にしまっときます。 📌We get to the dojo, unpack our arrows and put them together on the dojo in a yatate (photo 7) 📌8の写真 世界アーチェリーではQuiverという言葉が矢の容器を身に付けて弓引きます。その場合日本の物もあります✨弓術や流鏑馬では現代でも見かけます。名前が｢箙｣えびら です。 📌Photo 8 When we think of the word quiver our image is close to our body drawing thw arrows as we shoot? That type of quiver is used in kyujutsu and yabusame and is called an ebira as shown in photo 8. 📌9の写真 こちらも矢の容器です。｢空穂｣うつぼといいます。昔それで矢を入れて運びました。こちらの空穂が浦和にある弓道具店/ゆがけ工房に置いてあるものです。 Photo 9 shows an utsubo, a type of container used traditionally in transportation of arrows. This one is on display at my local kyudo shop. 🏹矢筒に戻ると 🔹4の写真: 矢筒の下を守るための石突(いしつき) 🔹5の写真: ふたの写真。現在矢筒はよくチャックつきです。伝統の物がとれてしまうのでなくならないよう紐巻いてあります。 🔹6の写真:四つ矢入れる矢筒の中身 🏹Going back to yazutsu 🔹Photo 4 A close up of the protectors on the bottom of the yazutsu. These are called ishitsuki. 🔹Photo 5 The lids open, you can see the modern type have a zipper and more traditional type have a string to keep the lid together. 🔹Photo 6 The inside of the 4 arrow holder. There is just enough room for the arrows and their feathers. 矢筒はとても面白いと思います✨矢があれば矢筒が必要です😊 I think yazutsu are quite interesting. As a general rule if you are out and about with kyudo arrows they should be inside a yazutsu😊

Happy Sunday❤ 📌伝統工芸品の未来と応援の話 📌Talking about supporting traditional craft 昨日は伝統工芸品の職人の個展を行きました✨ Yesterday I visited an artesians exhibition✨ 2枚目: 第四代:京都の平安住一水の今村達人です。私がかぶってる兜、ご家族が作った作品です! This is the Imamura san, he is a 4th generation armour artesian from Kyoto. His family made the kabuto I'm wearing! 🔹He is an artesian at Heian Jyu Issui @kyoto_issui @kyotoarmor 一つ一つは手込んで作ってます。時代が変わっていくうちに、お客さんのニーズが変わっていきます。 Each part is made painstaking by hand. As the times change he too adapts to the needs of the current generation. 今村さんは5月だけではなく、一年中、いつでも楽しめるお持ちできる作品も作ってます。鎧の一部になる身に付けるお守り、毛靴お守り、小型大鎧、小さな兜など、新鮮な作品たくさんあります。 His work is not just for May (Children's Day/Boys Day) but for all year round. There are yoroi omamori/ charms, and very small display kabuto and yoroi. His way of thinking embraces the future whilst still keeping traditional techniques. 今村さんなような職人応援してます！兜や大鎧身に付けて、沢山の方に伝統工芸品の存在知ってもらいたい✨ I show my support by wearing my oyoroi when I can. 💜Happy Thursday! 直垂(ひたたれ)の話 Talking about hitatare 是非スワイプ👉 Swipe for more photos🎌 🐴This sweet Japanese horse is Ebisu❤ 🐴馬さんはえびす君(和種馬)です❤ 写真で着てる物が｢直垂｣です! 上と下に別れており、上は直垂、下が袴になってて、直垂袴と呼ばれてます。 Hitatare is the garment I'm wearing in the photos😊 It's in two pieces, the top part simply called ｢hitatare｣ and the bottom part is ｢hitatare hakama｣  現代ではまだ色んな場面で直垂見れます。能、流鏑馬、射礼など 私はスポーツ流鏑馬や和式馬術の稽古、検定、大会などで着ます。 You can see hitatare these days in noh performances, during yabusame ceremonies and kyudo related ceremonies. I'm will wear hitatare for my sports yabusame gradings and competitions. Hitatare is popular among sports yabusame archers too. 📌平安時代から存在する物であって、後で武士の服として使われました。 📌The hitatare originated in the early Heian period becoming common samurai clothing later in the same period. By the mid 13th century, hitatare had become the standard samurai garment.  ネットのリサイクルアプリでこの素敵な直垂が私を見つけてくれた(笑) 緑と紫の生地が光の当て具合によって色が変わります💚💜今まで見た事ないような生地で大好きです。 I found this wonderful and colorful hitatare on the internet(actually I should say, it found me😅). I love the colour and the pattern, depending where the light hits it turns from purple to green💚💜 📌直垂面白いところが沢山あります✨ 🔹胸紐（むなひも）胸元にある白/紫の紐 🔹菊綴（きくとじ）の紐［結び菊綴］写真7枚目 🔹袖露（そでつゆ）［袖括（そでぐくり）の緒（お）写真2枚目 袖の先で紐があります。 📌Some noteble points on this hitatare are  🔹The white and purple ｢munahimo｣ the string that ties on my chest. 🔹The ｢kikutoji｣ close up photo 7 🔹The sodetsuyu or sodekuguri no o.If you look at photo 2 the sleeves have a cord woven into the bottom of the sleeves. I love all the details and craftsmanship on this garment! 8~10枚目の写真は紅葉台で装束乗りイベントに参加したとき。室町時代から、立烏帽子から折烏帽子になってて、写真では折烏帽子かぶってます✨ Photos 8~10 show hitatare with ori eboshi (the hat I'm wearing) From the Muromachi Period onward, it became more common to wear folded, or ori eboshi with the hitatare. So I tried at a special event at my horse ranch🐴 Wikiより 直垂（ひたたれ）は、主に武家社会で用いられた男性用衣服、日本の装束の一つである。 直垂からは「大紋直垂」・「素襖直垂」・鎧下に着る「鎧直垂」・「肩衣」などが時代と共に生じていく。 If wearing armor, the samurai would commonly wear a yoroi hitatare which differs slightly from the standard traditional hitatare notably the sleeves are alot more compact to facilitate wearing armour.

Happy Friday!🏹 胸当(むねあて)の話 Talking about muneate or the kyudo chest protector 現代弓道にまつわる話 Muneate use in present day kyudo ｢5枚目以降｣ 胸当は弓道具の基本、胸元を守るために着けるもの。基本的に女性の方が着用、たまに男性も使います。 From photo 5 onwards The muneate or chest protector is an essential piece of kyudo equipment for women, and on occaision for men too. 一般的に三角なような形になってて、胸元に着用する。｢会｣に入ると狙いの一部となってる｢胸弦｣は弦が胸に静かに胸に当たります。離れると胸当がないと射手の胸元が弦に当たる可能性があります。 Shaped in a triangle shape with rounded edges, the muneate is worn on the chest area to protect it from the bow string on release. We use munazuru, the point where the bowstring touches our chest in full draw (kai) as a point of reference in aiming. 胸当はいろんな種類ございます。材料といろは様々です。基本的に｢黒｣｢白｣｢透明｣が多くの方に使われてます。 Mune ate come in quite a large selection of materials and colors. The standard is either black or white or sometime clear. 材料が革、ナイロン、人工皮革などでできてます。 They are made of man made p.u. leather, actual leather, nylon mesh, or flexible plastic. 場合によって、着物の余り生地で胸当を作ります。 その方が胸当してても着物の柄や色、は邪魔にならず綺麗にいかせます。 On occaision people will have one custom made with the same fabric their kimono is made out of. This is a great idea, so the muneate doesn't detract from the beautiful kimono underneath. たまに、胸が膨らした男性の方が使います、私服で弓引くとき男女関わらず着用する方もいます。 たまに女性の方でも使わない方います。たまに弓道着の中に着用する方もいます。 Sometime well endowed men will wear them. When both men and women practice in normal clothes they wear one to ensure the string doesnt get caught on their clothing.Sometimes women won't wear one. Or sometimes, they will wear it inside their dougi so you just cant see it. ある日お稽古中に胸当てのゴムが壊れました。一手で胸当てなしで引いてみました･･･弦はやはり当たります😅😭 I tried shooting without muneate one day when my elastic broke during practice.
