Happy Friday✨ 無心の話 Talking about mushin What is mushin? Mu無 is empty/nothingness shin心 is heart. Mushin can be translated as clear mindedness, peace of mind, calm state of mind. 人ぞれぞれですが、私にとって弓道の一部が瞑想、集中、落ち着き。 Kyudo for me is parts of meditation, concentration, calmness but this varies person to person. 弓道始まったばっかりの頃、八節覚えるのに頭がいっぱいでした。 When I started learning kyudo, I spent weeks and months just learning technique and and trying to remember hassetsu (8 movements in kyudo). 最近考えせず、不安感じせず、少し｢無心｣に近づけた気がします。 稽古の最初の一手、審査での一手、純粋な心で弓引いてると思います。 最初の一手以降は研究が始まるので沢山考えて分析します(笑) Recently though I have noticed that when I approach my practice and grading with no thoughts, or doubts and just feel the movements and glow with the flow, the results are very good. これは無心ですか? ずっとじゃないけど無心の時はあると思います。 審査の細かいところは覚えてません😅 Is this mushin? Sometimes I think so. If you ask me how my grading(shinsa) went, did I make any mistakes? I honestly can't answer with alot of details😅

For me practicing kyudo in kimono is something quite sacred and special. 着物着て弓引く際、決まった動作いくつかあります。特に写真見てわかるものが｢襷裁き｣たすきさばき。 着物の袖は邪魔にならないよう、襷を使ってきれいに畳む動作。 There are specfic movements associated with the putting on and taking off of the white band (tasuki) that hold my kimono sleeves called tasuki sabaki. 男性の方は左の着物袖をからだから下ろし、袴に袖を差し込む。この動作は肌脱ぎといいます。 Men will take off the left kimono sleeve in a movement called hada nugi. 参段になると着物の着て弓引く事ができますので襷裁きまたは肌脱ぎを学びます。 Usually once we have reached 3rd dan, little by little we learn tasuki sabaki or hada nugi and its movements. #illustration #anime

🐴Happy Friday🏹 和式馬術の話 Talking about ｢washiki bajutsu｣ the way of the horse & traditional Japanese horse riding techniques🐴 来月で｢和式馬術｣始まって一年になる。 Next month will mark 1 year since I started on the different and very interesting path of learning washiki bajutsu. Washiki = Japanese style bajutsu = horse riding techniques. 紅葉台木曽馬牧場で和種馬の木曽馬乗ります✨ I ride Japanese kiso breed horses which I think is important in keeping with the tradition and supporting the organisations trying to raise awareness for Japanese indigenous horse breeds. 和式馬術ではブリティッシュと千賀って、和鐙を踏んで馬から伝わる反撞を膝で吸収し、腰を鞍から浮かして乗ります。これを｢立透かし｣と言います。立ち透かしという技術はお稽古で時間かけてできるようになるものです。 The equipment (saddle, stirrups, bridal, bit etc are different to that of overseas horseriding). The riding techniques such as tachisukashi take a long time to perfect and need constant repition to maintain. そして、少しずつですが、自前の道具集めてます✨ Little by little I am getting my own equipment, which is really exciting😊 和式馬術の先生が有名な流鏑馬団体の元射手で、自分のペースでちゃんとした技術学べて感謝してます。 I am lucky that my teachers are retired yabusame horse back archers. This allows me to learn techniques and methods handed down for generations since feudal times. 📌和式馬術学べる場が色々あります。自分もやってみたいなっと思ったら、DMください。できる場所探しましょう✨ There are several places to learn washikibajutsu in Japan. 日本画の話 Talking about nihonga 素晴らしい絵を通して日本伝統を伝える、守る I visited a wonderful art exhibition yesterday. 🔹スワイプすると作品があります。兜かぶって馬のってる作品もあり、私も兜かぶって行きました。 🔹As you swipe you will see the artwork. Some have kabuto, so I wore my kabuto too. 🔹美しい絵で夢中になり、癒し感じる。可愛らしい侍さん、平安時代美女、目の癒し、日本画。 Intricate works of art depicting old Japan. 🎯Happy Sunday!! 🏹国際女子弓道部 International Women"s Kyudo team 日本で外国人女性弓道家同士でお稽古は滅多にできない現実 I can't express how wonderful it is to have the chance to practice with other non Japanese women here in Japan. Its a rare and very special opportunity. 昨日はなんと✨ お二人が弓と禅遊びに来てくれました！ただただ嬉しかった😭✨ Yesterday I had keiko at a dojo I help run @you.me.and.zen together with sempai @hirokyudoworld ブラジル出身の国際武道大学卒:デボラさんと かっちょい4寸を引くアメリカ出身:ケニヤさん I finally got to meet Debora san and Kenya san. Happy Friday everyone!! 金曜日だ✨ ⚔️甲冑の話 ⚔️Talking about kacchu｢armour｣ 🐴幼い頃から、中世の鎧に興味ありました。本:King Athur が大好きで、自分が馬の上で鎧着る事が夢でした。プラスチックの盾と刀を持って中世騎士ごっこしました😊 Since I was very small, I was interested in armour. In NZ it was more about European 19th century armour, King Arthur and the Kinghts of the Round Table. I had a plastic sword and shield😊✨ When I got the chance to try kacchu or Japanese armour, I was so excited! 先日日本の甲冑を着る機会が出てきて、とってもわくわくしました✨ 📷甲冑が 濃紺糸威朱桶側二枚胴具足 前立 四ツ又抱角 (のうこんいとおどししゅおけがわにまいどうぐそく まえたて よつまただきつの） ⚔️400年前の甲冑のレプリカになります✨ 身につけて頂いた武具は陣太刀（じんたち) ⚠️甲冑の重さは約23キロ This is armour is a replica of a 400 year old kacchu called ｢Noukonito Odoshi Shuokegawa Nimai Doukusoku Maedate yotsumata takitsuno｣ This name describes the armour type or kacchu and the kabuto (helmet) type and adornings (horns, and maedate). My sword is a shintachi. This kacchu wasn't as heavy as Oyoroi but it weighed in at about 23 kilos. ズラリと並んだ甲冑と大鎧さん、ゆっくり着てた人物とその歴史について説明してくださったお兄さん😊 選んでから、説明しながら丁寧に着付けが始めました✨ I was educated on all the different types of armour and the famous samurai who wore them! 🎯四半的弓道の話 🎯Talking about Shihan Mato Kyudo 🏹引き方、弓矢、的、狙う距離が｢弓道｣と違います。ピンチ式で引きます。ゆがけを使わない。 🏹Different draw, bow, arrows, target compared to kyudo.　No glove, pinch draw. 🏯宮崎県から広まった四半的弓道は一般の人が引く弓として広まった。 🏯Shihanmato kyudo originated in Miyazaki Pref. about 400 years ago. This type of archery was for the non-samurai/peasants. 的まで8.2m 矢が1.36m 私がよこになって(166cm)比べてみてます😄 It's 8.2m to the target and the arrows are 1.36m long!! 現代ではカーボン弓矢で稽古行うが竹つかってる方います。 Carbon bows and arrows are popular but you can still see people shooting with bamboo. Imagine trying to keep 1.36m long bamboo arrows from getting damaged or changing shape!! 八節, 宮崎の方でも体配や射礼もあります。 弓道と違って左利きの弓はあり、畳に座ったまま弓引きますので椅子も車イスも大丈夫。私服でも大丈夫。 Similar to kyudo there are hassetsu and in some federations taihai/ceremonial shooting too. Different to kyudo: there are left handed bows, you sit on tatami to shoot and people that prefer chairs or need to use wheelchairs are welcomed. I love that. Happy Friday!! 素敵な金曜日を☀️ 🏹Talking about jindou ya 🏹神頭矢の話 神頭（じんとう）厳密には鏑(かぶら)とは別物。外見が鏑と似ている為、しばしば鏑と混同されがちである。中身が刳り貫かれておらず、また大きさも鏑より小さい。 Jindou has a wooden bulb shaped tip and is often mistaken for a kabura ya (whistling arrow )as they are shaped similarly. Kaburaya are hollowed out and whistle upon arrow release. Jindou don't make a sound. 紡錘形から円錐形まで形状・大きさとも一様ではなく、材質は軽量、硬質な木材など、古くは海藻の根を乾燥させたものが使用された。鏃の代わりに矢に取り付け、射あてるものを傷を付けないよう、もしくは射砕く目的で使用される。 There are differen shapes of jindouya and along time ago where actually made of dried hardened seaweed roots. 🎯弽｢ゆがけ｣の話 🎯Talking about ｢yugake｣ the kyudo glove. ゆがけは大切な道具です✨ Kyudo gloves or yugake are usually made by yugake craftspeople. Made of deerskin they fetch quite a high price depending on the popularity of certain craftspeople. 弽は弓を引くための道具で鹿革製です。右手にはめ、弦から右手親指を保護するために使う。製作する職人は弽師です。 Until recently I had a love hate relationship with yugake. 去年まで弽の事は悩む事結構ありました。弓具店で購入した弽がうまく使えず｢離れ｣が中々うまく出れなくて。 The yugake I was using as a bit above my ability and I found it hard to time release in my shooting.
