Happy Monday everyone💙 体配(たいはい)の話 Talking about taihai 先日着物着て先輩とお稽古。体配は何度も行いました👘 The other day I had photos taken in kimono with my sempai.We practiced taihai several times👘 個人的にですが、体配が踊りなように感じ。踊ってるわけではないが、決まったステップ(動作)、決まった順番やタイミングで行う。 I think of taihai like a dance. It's not dancing per se, but from the start to the finish the steps and the timing are set. 私が試験/審査あると体配行います。しかし場合によって、全くの初対面の方4名と組んで行えなければならない。 When I have shinsa/grading I must perform zassha taihai with up to 4 other people I may not have ever met. 間、タイミング、速度が大事な場面で初めましての4名と例えばダンスの試験受ける事って想像できますか？(笑) 少し緊張😅 When timing and speed are important, could you imagine having a dance examination with 4 people you never practiced with before?😅 ある程度前の方と速度合うように動作を行えなければならない。 To a certain extent we need to match the pace of the person in front. 射場を入場をし、その弓道や弓術の流派によって体配行います。 We enter the shajo then depending on which school of archery we learn, we will do taihai in that specific way. いつ体配行うのが道場によって違いますが、所属道場ではお稽古始まり前に必ず一手で体配します。 The rules are different from dojo to dojo but in my home dojo before starting our regular okeiko we will always do zassha taihai with hitote (two arrows). 個人的に体配好きです。下手ですが、そのゆっくり動くこと、ゆっくり引くことが気持ち良いのだ✨ I love zassha taihai as it takes time, quite a few minutes just to shoot 2 arrows. Happy Thursday💚 🏹射籠手/射小手(いごて)の話 🏹Talking about igote (horse back archery sleeve) 📌騎射する際、左腕に着けてるものについて質問がありました✨ 📌The other day I had a question about the sleeve I wear when practicing sports yabusame or horseback archery. ｢いごて｣射籠手/射小手とも書きます。騎射（流鏑馬・犬追物など）装束の一つで弓手（ユンデ)左手につけるものです。左の袖は弓の弦に巻き込まないよう射籠手の中で綺麗にまとまります。 It's called an Igote or Yugote and can be translated as a bow gauntlet or bow sleeve. Worn on the left/bow hand the igote serves to protect the archers arm from the bow string. 甲冑用の籠手と別物です。錦・綾などの表地に、中に麻、裏に平絹をつけて作られています。 Traditionally part of the clothing worn when practicing horseback archery, yabusame, inuoumono etc. They were made of silk or cotton with a hemp fibre lining. They are also different to the sleeve worn with kacchu armour (kagote) 🐴スポーツ流鏑馬の場合、安全のため大会や検定会(審査)では射籠手着用が必要。 With sports yabusame it is a rule that we wear one during our gradings and competitions for the sake of safety. We wear hitatare(traditional garments) or kimono when we ride and the igote keeps the long sleeve out of the way. スワイプすると先輩の @shokuninkitsuya さんが着物帯をリサイクルして射籠手作ってくださいました(パール色) 緑色のものがメルカリで見つけたものです。スポーツ流鏑馬の射手は通販で買うか、手作りする方が多いです。 If you swipe you can see an igote my sempai @shokuninkitsuya made for me, with a recycled kimono obi (pearl colour). The next one (green) was purchased second hand. Sports yabusame archers purchase their igote from online shops, or they are handmade, oftentimes by the archers themselves. 最近小笠原清基さん @ogasawararyu が、男性が冬の寒い時期に着物着て弓のお稽古するときは肌脱ぎをしないで、かわりに射籠手をつけて暖かくお稽古ができます。このアイデアがとても良いですね✨ Recently Kiyomoto Ogasawara san @ogasawararyu posted about the igote also being used by men in kimono during winter for standard kyudo practices. Usually men must remove their kimono sleeve (hadanugi) but in winter it is freezing. Ogasawara san suggests keeping your kimono on and wearing an igote instead😊I think this is a great idea.

💙Happy Friday everyone!! 📌弓術日置流印西派の話 📌Talking about Heki ryu Insai ha 先月東北にて黒須先生の道場お邪魔しました! 月刊秘伝の取材と共に日置流印西派の指導させて頂きました✨ The other day I had the opportunity to be taught Heki ryu Insai ha at Kurosu sensei's own dojo in Tohoku. I was there helping for his interview with martial arts magazine: Gekkan Hiden @budojapan 黒須先生は東北学院大学の教授であり、伊達印西派弓術研究会のリーダーであって、約50年弓引いてます✨ Kurosu sensei is a Professor at Tohoku Gakuin University and the leader of the Date Insai ha Kyujutsu Reseach Group. He has been involved with kyujutsu and kyudo for about 50 years✨ 黒須先生の指導頂いて光栄でした✨手の内技術｢紅葉重ね｣や｢斜面打ち起こし｣教えていただきました✨そっから少しずつ練習してます✨ It was an honour to be taught by him in this amazing school of archery. Learning the special tenouchi technique of ｢momiji gasane｣ and shooting technique of ｢shamen uchiokoshi｣ from him was very insightful. Since I visited him I have been continuing to practice Heki ryu Insai ha🏹 📌月刊秘伝 本日発売✨ ｢黒須先生の記事:手の内の歴史と技法｣ Heki ryu was founded in the Muromachi Period,  during the Edo period a faction called Insai ha was born. The Date clan based in Sendai practiced this particular school of archery. The style emphasizes practicality on the battlefield over ceremonial grace. Happy Tuesday everyone💙 📌襷の話 📌Talking about tasuki 👘着物を着て弓引く時、着物袖が弓の邪魔にならないよう襷裁き｢たすきさばき｣行います。 👘In kyudo when women(and very occasionally, men) wear kimono to shoot, the kimono sleeves must be tucked away so they dont get caught in the bow string. 襷長さ=アンダーバストx2.4倍 We use a sash called a tasuki (たすき) (襷) Length is variable depending on ones body size but usually about 2.4 times the measurement of the persons underbust. Folded in about 18cm segments (photo 2) mine are silk. コロナおきる前では4段の審査が和服で行いました、そのため私の道場では参段から襷裁きの指導が始まりました。現在五段から審査が和服になりました。 For our 4th dan shinsa/grading we wear kimono and shoot (Pre corona). We learn the movements and special technique to tie the tasuki after passing 3rd dan. 今回投稿してる写真は弓矢の動作ではなく、襷裁きの様子のみです✨ These photos do not show the bow and arrow technique, only the taski tying. 入場してから一旦座って、弓矢はバランスしながら襷裁きを行う✨ Upon entering the shajo or shooting area we sit, we balance the bow and arrow on our legs. With our glove already on we pull the taski from our hakama waist band and proceed to tie. 襷裁き動作もスムーズに行われるよう、何度も何度も練習が必要です。タイミング、スピード、見た目、色んな基準があります。 One sleeve at a time this technique must be practiced over and over so that it is smooth and that the sleeves are correctly tucked away. 📌最後の結び目が必ず右になります。 The musubime or knot must be on our right hand side. 振袖着物でも、袖が綺麗に畳む事が望ましい。そのため手伝いが必要です。畳んだ袖が襷で止め、結び目が背中になることが多いです。 Even furisode kimono/with very very long sleeves can be tucked away beautifully. Furisode kimono tasuki requires help as the sleeves are folded on top of themselves then tied behind the archers back. 着物を着て、弓を持つ時の礼儀作法が大切と思います。 Sleeve and tasuki tying etiquette is important when wearing kimono holding a yumi. 襷裁きの動作は今のところ2回ほど指導はうけたのですがまだまだ練習が必要な動作です。いつか綺麗にできるよう頑張りたいと思います。 I have been taught tasuki sabaki about twice however I am very slow and forget things still. 襷裁き行ってる先生や先輩をみるととても心が落ち着きます🍀 Watching my sempai and sensei tie their tasuki is very calming and beautiful to watch.

🎯Happy Friday 良い金曜日を☀️ #fulldrawfriday こちらが大宮にある道場ですが、所属道場直してる間に度々お世話になり増した。 This was a calm and sunny day in Omiya, north of Tokyo at a dojo I have been practicing at during the time my main dojo was getting fixed. 光のか原画よくて、芝生も良い香り、木造の壁と床、畳、デザインが全体的に昭和時代ですが私は好きです。 The light is really beautiful here, the grass smells great, the wooden walls and tatami are very typical of kyudojos of this era here in Japan. 奥に巻藁3台あります。巻藁は的を気にせず近くで弓引けます。ゆっくりと射を考える事もできます✨ In the background you can see three makiwara for practising close range shooting with no target. Its a great way to focus on fixing your technique. 心が落ち着く環境です。 ここで弓と自分と呼吸だけ考える場所です。 It's a calm and quiet environment free from distractions. こどもの日🎏 Today is Kodomono no Hi 🌎この度節句鎧兜を身に付いて、こどもの日に世界中の子供達の ｢健康、勇気、病気や悪から守る｣事を願ってます。 🌎I'm wearing sekku type yoroikabuto, traditionally displayed during kodomo no hi or Children's Day. The meaning of kabuto, the helmet, and Oyoroi the armour is very special. With my kabuto and yoroi I'm sending everyone, especially children wishes and hope for health, courage, and protection from diseases and evil. 🎏｢10枚目:長男 The 10th photo is my son｣ 📌5月5日、端午の節句は、男の子の成長を祝う日であり、現代では「子どもの日」とも呼ばれています。男の子の誕生を祝い、健やかな成長を願って両親や親戚から贈られるのが一般的です。健やかに成長することを願う重要な行事として定着していったのです。 📌May 5th is Children's Day, or Kodomo no Hi (子供の日), and was originally known as Tango no sekku (端午の節句). It became a national holiday in 1948, but it has been a day of celebration in Japan since ancient times. Tango no Sekku was historically set as a festival for boys on the 5th day of the 5th month. Girls have their own festival, called Hina Matsuri (Doll Festival), held on March 3rd, It is said that during the Kamakura period, Tango-no-sekku was a celebration for the male heirs of military class and rituals remained an important part of the Kodomo no Hi.
