Happy Monday💙 気持ちを表す: 弓道の礼と揖(ゆう)の話し Talking about bowing in kyudo: yu and rei  🔹Do you bow during your keiko? Tell me about it in the comments. 礼で始まる、礼で終わるっという、世界的に流行してる言葉。武道の魅力をひとつと思います。弓道も同じです。お稽古始まる前、終わったあとのご挨拶含めて礼します。 As you may already know in budo or martial arts here in Japan the act of bowing is very important. We start with a bow and end with a bow. Kyudo does too. Bowing connects your heart, your body and your mind and shows how you feel. 🔹There are several types of bows in kyudo. This time I will talk about yu and rutsu rei. 🔹お稽古開始のご挨拶ですが、道場によって「礼、揖(ゆう)、拍手」のパターンが色々あります。国国旗向かって行う、道場設立者の写真向かって行うなど場所によって違います。 🔹Greeting our dojo members and teachers before we start keiko, on finishing bowing again and thanking them before departing is part of the keiko as a whole. Dojo to dojo the method of greeting/ aisatsu 挨拶 is different and it's helpful to have someone show you before you attempt it. On occasion at dojos founded by specific people we bow to the photo of the founder of the dojo, to photos of teachers and clap and bow. 🔹射所入る時、出る時、射行う前的向かって気持ち込めて礼または揖します。 🔹During practice we bow before starting our shooting too. Photos 1 and 2 show bowing upon finishing taihai (there are no arrows in my hands). The bow tip must stay 10cm above the ground during this time. 🔹立礼 礼も、大切な基本動作の一つです。弓道では、心正しく身を修むるは礼の本なり、と言われるくらい、礼は相手に対しての心の形に表すものです。形だけのものは礼になりません。45度で行います 🔹About ritsu rei (standing rei) It's a bow of 45 degrees. I will perform this bow everytime I practice at my dojo. When bowing holding a bow and arrow, my bow tip stays 10cm off the floor, the arrows in my right hand stay at the same angle as I bow 45 degrees. This is a lot trickier than it looks! 🔹揖(ゆう) 弓射を行う場合、定めの座の礼と同様の気持ちで、本座における最初の揖は｢お願い致します｣｢只今から演武させていただきます｣、終わったときの本座の揖は｢有り難うございました｣｢無事終わりました｣と感謝の気持ちをもって行うことが望ましい。 場および的との結びつきもこの時さらに定まる。 🔹Yu shown in photos We bow about 10cm deep bending from our hips. I think yu is a tribute to the beginning and end of the shooting, it expresses gratitude, it asks permission before shooting,  it connects the archer to the shooting area and the target. Happy Wednesday everyone🍀 別意見·別角度·別アングルの話 Talking about a different point of view 武道でも古武道でも日常生活の中でも人間はどうしてもなれてる方法、楽な方を良く選べる。武道の話になると癖も含めて動作や型を繰り返す事もあります。結果的的によかったりするかもしれないのですが流れもとっても大事ですね。 When practicing our budo or kobudo, slipping into our comfort zone is a real thing. Our technique including the bad habits can be our go to as we get the cut or shot we need but the way we got it may not be quite correct. 別意見、別角度、別アングルから自分を見る事は進歩に繋がると思います。でも先生からの指導で、癖が明らかになる、本人が受け入れる事、新たなにわかった事を日常稽古にとり入れる事が中々大変です。プライド、エゴを捨てて、頑張りが必要でしょ。 Seeing things from a different angle, getting a different opinion, meeting with our sensei and hearing or seeing for ourselves where we are going wrong and noticing our weaknesses or bad habits then putting that advice into practice not only takes effort but a lot of willpower I think. お稽古中先生が普段横からが動画とってくれたりしますがこの間たまたま別アングルでスタッフがとっていただけました。 My sensei usually takes video from the side as he is instructing me but by chance the other day at training another staff member happened to take photos and video for me from an angle and position I had never seen before.  投稿してる写真ですが馬が走る「走路」そうろの初点からとってくださったものです。順番として始点を向かって歩きます。ある位置少し過ぎたところで、馬とくるっと振り向きます。一息してからダッシュで走り出します。 Todays photos are taken from the start line of the track we use in sports yabusame called a souro 走路 (そうろ). We walk towards the start line and turn on point, take a breath then gallop! 始点での動作が毎度考えて、もっとスムーズできるように直したいと思ってます。振り向く瞬間、その一息が走りの調子に繋がりますし、体制、バランスが射の調子に影響します。 The turning point on the start line is important and something that I'm working on each time I train. That starting point timing decides the run to a certain degree because if the timing is off it can affect balance and posture which in turn affects shooting. 別意見、別角度、別アングルはこの時こそ本当に助かります！みたことない自分をみて今度どう変えて行くか?研究の機会になりますので、皆さんも是非いつもと違う角度で写真と動画を是非とってみてください☺️ So having that different point of view, or opinion is enormous I think. It brings another viewpoint into your training or keiko. You can use it to your advantage to help improve. Happy Sunday everyone! 👘夏の思い出 👘Memories of summer さいたま市·大宮氷川神社PR用撮影の写真 This was a photoshoot & promotion for Saitama City at Omiya Hikawa Shrine. 🔹今年は多くの夏祭りが中止になりましたが、この撮影がきっかけでミニ祭りは楽しくできたのです😃ワイワイ盛り上がりました✨ 🔹This year I couldn't visit any matsuri due to the pandemic so I was so happy to have the chance to have a mini matsuri in the grounds of a famous shrine whilst taking photos for Saitama City PR. 🐠1, 2枚目は金魚すくいのポイを手にとって沢山の金魚とってきました(笑)いつもですがとった金魚はもとに戻します😊✨ 🔹In the 1st and 2nd photo I am trying my hand at kingyo sukui or goldfish scooping! In my right hand I hold a special scoop called a poi. The inner part is made of a thin washi paper that tears when it becomes too wet. The aim is to scooping the goldfish into a bowl. Once the washi in the poi tears your turn is over. People who caught fish and wish to care for them at home can take them, however I return them to the pool they came from. 🪀3枚目の写真はヨーヨーです! カラフルで楽しいですね!子供が大好きで、実際撮影してる間に通りかかった親子に渡しました😆 🔹The 3rd photo shows traditional summer festival yo yos! They are decorative balloons on rubber bands filled with water. As with goldfish scooping, there is yoyo scooping too. You have to hook the yoyo out of the water with a string made from washi paper which will tear if it gets too wet. They are fun, bouncy and colourful (and my kids love them😆) 🔹4と5枚目の写真がふくろ絵馬の様子。木の板の代わりに絵馬をかたどった厚紙に願い事を書き、10色のちりめんの巾着に入れて奉納する。 🔹Photo 4 and 5 show fukuro ema inside the shrine! They are colourful bags that contain wooden boards (ema) where people write their wishes! So many beautiful colourful wishes🌈I like this idea very much. 🔹6,7,8枚目が神社の建物それぞれ写ってます。やく2400年の歴史を持つ神社です。埼玉県さいたま市大宮区高鼻町にある神社。式内社、武蔵国一宮。旧社格は官幣大社で、現在は神社本庁の別表神社。宮中の四方拝で遥拝される神社の1つ。 🔹Photos 6, 7 and 8 are different parts of Hikawa Jinja! Located in Omiya in Saitama City where I live, Hikawa Jinja is one of the oldest and most significant shrines in the Kanto region And is said to have a 2400 year old history! Happy Thursday everyone❤ 🔹自己受容(自分受け入れる事)の話 🔹Talking about self acceptance 日頃よく思い浮かぶ事:セルフアクセプタンス。セルフは自分、アクセプタンスは受け入れする事です。 It's a public holiday here in Japan and I am off to kyudo practice!! But first lately I have been thinking about self acceptance a lot lately. 自身に繋がる事と思ってます。自分の受け入れ度が高い人ほどメンタルが安定しやすいと思います。 It's most likely a phrase that you've heard over and over. For me thanks in part to budo my level of self acceptance has become very high. I think self acceptance relates to confidence and self awareness and overall psychological well being. いまの自分を受け入れずに過去や未来にこだわると、嫌なことが頭のなかで増幅されていき、うつや不安につながってしまう。 I think holding on too strongly to past events or bad times, or bad feelings for others really affects you over time. You don't have to forget but moving on and forward and focusing on yourself is more positive than holding bad memories and worrying about what others are doing or not doing.   かして、自分を諦めるんではなく、自分は自分でいいんだ。日々武道続ける事がよりセルフアクセプタンスを高まったと思います。 You don't have to give up on yourself, but knowing your limits, what stresses you out, what makes you happy, being happy with what you have etc helps in self acceptance. Budo I think really helps you get intouch with this part of yourself. 私はもちろん完璧な人間ではない。SNSでも家族や年齢、仕事の事情を全然公開して、オープンな人間として活動してます。リアルで会って話せたら、私はこのまま(笑)上から目線する方はあんまり理解出来ない人です。 I'm definitely not a perfect human but that's ok. I'm open about my family situation, my age, my work etc. It makes everything alot easier. If you met me on the street I would talk to you as your equal because I don't understand people who look down on/talk down to others. 最近SNSでもリアルでも マウントとりたがる方がちょいちょい目にします。 マウントの取り合いに興味ない私はただただ感じた、体験した、思った物を写真と文書をあわせて記録として投稿しますが、リアリティーを作り上げすぎる方もいます。 アリのままでいいのにね。セルフアクセプタンスが大事と思います❤️ Lately on various SNS sites and in real life several people have been trying to 「what we say in Japanese」 Mount wo toru. Like one upmanship? They worry more about what others are doing and trying to beat them rather than concentrating on their own self acceptance and self improvement. For me I guess I just post my thoughts, feelings, things I've tried, show things that others can try too, post about my budo progess and work info😊✨ #弓道 #弓矢 #kyudo
