Happy Friday! ⚔️長巻2回目 折烏帽子 ⚔️Nagamaki: 2nd time & ori eboshi 🔹最近馬上武芸勉強つつあります。馬の上に長巻、槍、刀などを使いながら馬のコントロールをする。写真は2回目の稽古からで基本的に馬の上で稽古しますが長巻ふりながら写真は以外に難しくて(笑)今度またとってみます。 I started to learn bajobugei:which is martial arts on horseback. Photos from the 2nd keiko the other day. We practice on horseback but its very tricky to take detailed photos with a nagamaki waving around! 🔹今回は馬のコントロール(手綱)、長巻の持ち方、背中と右腕のバランス考えて、長巻くつけながら片手で移動。 This time I really focussed on control of the horse and the positioning of the nagamaki in the back when riding. In my standing photos you can see the nagamaki is tucked under my arm and pressed against my shoulder blade. 🔹馬弓の時より手綱の位置がちがって、馬に伝わる曲がる合図がちがって、面白いです。何度も「敵」に向かって体と馬曲がりながら長巻を持っていく。速度がまだゆっくりですがとても面白い。 The reins are held higher and in front with the left hand, nagamaki in my right hand. The kata I practiced was rushing the enemy then turning left with my body and the horse and having the nagamaki and shoulder blade position is important for balance and force. 📌烏帽子について 📌About eboshi かぶってるのは古式の侍烏帽子。侍烏帽子は立烏帽子を何度も折り畳んで髻もとどりを収容する巾子形だけ残したものです。本来は「折烏帽子（おりえぼし）」と言います。 This time I'm wearing an old style samurai eboshi. Eboshi come in many different types of softness and hardness and many different shapes. Each shape denotes the type of person they were and their status. This specific eboshi is ori eboshi. 📌長巻について 📌About the nagamaki こちらは長巻（ながまき）は刀剣の一種で、大太刀から発展した武具であるで。持ってる物: 全体の長さ約170センチです。刃渡り約74センチあります。重さ約1.4kg This is a nagamaki. It's classified as a type of sword developed from the Odachi. The one I'm holding is 170cm long, with a blade length of 74cm. It weighs about 1.4kg. I'm used to this length as my yumi is 221cm but the weight plus being elevated on horseback was something else. 📌長巻の武器としての発展過程とは異なり、長巻を扱う武術である長巻術は、剣術系の技法ではなく、薙刀術系の技法で構成されている。また、江戸時代に成立した長巻術の中には、薙刀術と混同している流派もあった。 📌As with the yari, it was an important weapon on the battlefield. Happy Friday! 🔹意識の話。試合、審査、稽古全てが弓道、少しずつ違う。 🔹Talking about awareness. Kyudo for competition, grading and keiko 🔸シチュエーションによって自分の武道やスポーツが少し変わりますか？ 🔸Do you perform your martial art or sport differently depending on the circumstances? How do you change? Let me know in the comments! 🔹今週初めて弓道の試合に出ました! This week I got the chance to participate in my first kyudo competition! 🔹試合が3人立ち、4射x2の一人合計8射。結果私羽分(8射4中)ですが、初めての試合としては悪くないかなと思ってます。 8 arrows, shot in sets of 2, I got 4 of 8 which wasn't bad I think considering it was my first competition and I was nervous😅 今まで通常稽古、審査のための稽古が4年続いてました。大会出ようね、と声かけられて、シーンになった。3人チーム入る自信もなくて、全て外されたら皆にがっかりさせると抵抗ありました。 Up until now I have been basically doing daily keiko and preparation for shinsa (grading) for 4 years. When it was suggested I enter the competition I kind of froze, I wasn't confident I could perform together in a group of 3. I didn't want to let them down. 振り替えてみると試合ならではの考え、動きや動作、技術、タイミングあります。試合に出れて出れて、色々考えるきっかけになりました。環境によって射を意識して変える筆はあるかもしれない。 On reflection, being in the competition made me think about the way I shoot, my state of mind and my technique. I realised the need to change depending on the circumstance I'm in. 大会、試合用の弓道は的中が優先 大会によりますが、動作、射も見られて点数つけられる場合もあります。試合は団体戦、個人戦になります。 Kyudo for competitions depending on the competition is about hit rate. In some very high level competitions technique as well as hit rate is graded. School and universities are the best examples of the power that kyudo competitions have. そのかわりに審査の優先所が段位によって、的中、技術、矢所、速度、他のメンバーとのいきあい等。男性の肌脱動作、射行う前着物の袖を脱ぎます、女性白い襷を着物の袖であげて、襷裁き動作行います。他の4名の方は動作ある程度シンクロになってるかどうか、、が審査弓道 Kyudo gradings or shinsa depending on the dan we are aiming for is about hitting, technique, arrow placement, movement, timing. The way men take off one arm of their kimono before shooting, the way women must put on tasuki before shooting, the timing between each archer, and if they are in sync..this is kyudo for shinsa. 毎日の日常稽古、研究の時間、新しい道具の取り組み、ならしの時間、くせを直す時間。 Keiko is our everyday practice of refining our technique, thinking about or equipment, a time for fixing things,  全てが弓道ですが少しずつ違います。少しずつ違うのは自分の中で意識する必要がある。 Continued in comments! #弓道 #kyūdō #kyudo #awareness #意識

Happy Sunday✨ 🎯四半的: 竹矢の話 🎯Shihan mato: precious bamboo arrows 🔹先日ご縁があって四半的用の竹矢3本手に入りました。長さそれぞれですが 1.3mほど。シャフトがとーても細くて美しいです。先生が稽古に持ってきて、状態を確認して、引いてみようっと! The other day I got 3 bamboo arrows. They are shihan mato arrows and are 1.36 meters long! So long and the shaft so skinny. Sensei suggested I bring them to practice so he could check them for me. If they were usable then I could shoot them! 🔹発祥時代約400年前では竹の弓矢が通常でしたが現在の四半的ではカーボンやグラスの弓、カーボンの矢が一般的。 400 years back when shihan mato first started there were only bamboo bows and arrows. Now in modern shihan mato we use carbon or fibreglass bows and carbon or aluminum arrows.  🔹そのわけとは四半的用の弓矢職人が年に減り現在存在しておりません。 The reason for this is the specialised artesian who made bows and arrows up until recently no longer makes them. 🔹竹矢3本は手に入ったこと本当に奇跡と思ってずっと大切にします。記念として引いてる姿を写真にな残せてもらいました✨ I feel very lucky I am able to have these 3 arrows and will treasure them forever. I shoot two of the arrows once to commemorate receiving them. 🔹初引きでとってもドキドキしました！シャフトが細くて、、矢飛びは予想できてないところで緊張しましたが、うまく引けた！きれいに飛んだ✨歴史的、大切な矢は引けて嬉しかった✨ The photos you see are me shooting the arrows. I was very nervous, such skinny shafts I wasn't sure how well they would fly weigh-wise, and if course I didn't want to break them. Both hit the target and it was a special experience for me. I feel appreciative that I have a special part of history with me. ---------- 四半的弓道の話 Talking about shihanmato kyudo ---------- 📌宮崎県から約400年前広まった弓術。四半的弓道は一般の人が引く弓として広まった。 📌Shihanmato kyudo started in Miyazaki ken about 400 years ago. This type of archery was for the non-samurai/regular people! 📌八節あります。左利きの弓はあり、畳に座ったまま弓引きますので椅子も車イスも大丈夫。私服で大丈夫。 📌的まで8.2m 矢長さ1.36m 口割り/頬付けがあごの方にあります。ゆがけを使わない、ピンチ式で弓引きます✨滑らないよう、矢はずに滑り止めついてます。 📌It's 8.2m to the target and the arrows are 1.36m long! My yumi is a nami sun 221cm and 10 kilos. 🔹馬具が和式で木造の鞍と江戸時代の鐙がとても素敵と思います🐴 お馬さんが紅葉台の木曽馬牧場さんのえびす君です。 The horse tack (bagu) is Japanese with a wooden kura (saddle) and Edo period abumi (stirrups)🐴 The horse is Ebisu kun he is a Japanese kisouma an indigenous breed. He lives at Kouyodai Horse Ranch in Yamanashi.
